U.S. House Bills Passed
These bills are near the beginning of the legislative process. Having passed the House, they next go to the Senate to be passed on their own or incorporated into some other bill. They are not yet law.
- H.R. 1804: 7(a) Loan Agent Oversight Act would require a report on defaults and frauds in the primary loan program for small businesses generally referred to as 7(a). It had bipartisan sponsorship and passed 405-3.
- H.R. 1642: Connecting Small Businesses with Career and Technical Education Graduates Act of 2025passed 396-5
- H.R. 2483: SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Reauthorization Act of 2025, which would reauthorize certain programs that provide for opioid use disorder prevention, treatment, and recovery passed 366-57
- H.R. 2987: CEASE Act of 2025 would limit the number of non-bank lenders (who provide government-backed loans to small businesses that are new or are in underserved areas) that the SBA regulates to a number which the SBA should be able to manage effectively. (The Committee Report from which we derived this summary). The bill passed 214-198
- H.R. 2931: Save SBA from Sanctuary Cities Act of 2025, which would direct the Small Business Administration to relocate offices out of cities it deems “sanctuary cities”, passed 211-199.
